Each person can only claim One Beastie from the "wild".

Find One - Keep One

Leave More Fun

For Everyone!

If you Discover a Tiny Beastie in the wild, please Register your Tiny Beastie here with the Gallery so we can track their activities.   We appreciate your participation!

Collecting more than one wild Beastie, or attempting to Sell a Tiny Beastie can result in Bad Luck and is highly discouraged!*

If you have already claimed a Beastie and Discover more than one Beastie in the wild, leave them in place, or help them out so they can be Discovered by their own Special Someone.

If you wish to Offer a Home to multiple Tiny Beasties, please visit our Adoption page, where you can find a selection of Gregarious Tiny Beasties who prefer to be Chosen, rather than Discovered.

*See FAQ (below) for more details.

The Lore of the Tiny Beasties

The world is full of elusive creatures and mysterious monsters; Bigfoot, Nessie and the Chupacabra are famous around the globe...but you may not have heard of the Tiniest Cryptids in the world...the Tiny Beasties.

They seem to be a relatively recent and local phenomenon originating in the Pacific Northwest, where vast tracts of wild land still hold their secrets.

However, the Tiny Beasties are distinct from most cryptids in that they do not actually seek to conceal themselves from human beings.

They are not inclined to hide away in the woods, nor attack livestock or terrorize rural communities.  They appear as little "monsters", but do not behave in monstrous ways.

In fact, they actually Seek Out human companionship and offer us gifts of Joy and Wonder, Friendship, and...legends say...Good Luck!

While they do not particularly seek to conceal their existence from Humanity, they DO seem to be quite selective about whom they reveal themselves to.

Tiny Beasties are...well...tiny (usually no more than 3" tall) and escape most people's notice, but they are known to employ various strategies to Find a particular Human Companion - a Special Someone to Share their Love and Luck with.

To this end, they are small and unobtrusive...yet noticeable by those who are Curious and Observant, who possess a sense of Adventure and Whimsy.

They tend to lurk in places and show up at events that draw the kinds of people they seek. Some say they even "call" to compatible humans through some sort of magical or metaphysical means.

You never know where they might turn up - at a park or playground, library or shopping center, at a farmer's market or festival -  tucked somewhere, waiting for their Special Someone to Discover them and offer them a Home.

However, as with most Magical Creatures who possess and offer Magical Gifts...there are Rules that must be followed, or you risk offending them and receiving possible comeuppance

Tiny Beasties found in the wild are Seeking a Special Someone - they are "monogamous" and rather jealous and cannot abide being Collected or Sold.

They see it as Greedy to deny other Beasties a chance to Find their Own Special Someone, and have been known to punish Greedy humans who attempt to Keep more than one Tiny Beastie Discovered in the wild, or Sell them for personal gain.

If their Rules are Violated, the Beasties' powers of Good Luck can sour and you may find yourself plagued by an avalanche of small frustrations and mishaps.

Though their retribution is tiny, it adds up quickly and those who have dared to offend the Tiny Beasties are wise to quickly remedy the situation by choosing One to Claim and freeing any others to Find someone else.

We here at the Gallery recommend returning them to where you found them, or place them safely in another appropriate spot.  You can even drop hints to other Special People you know...it's fun!

FAQ

FAQ

Q:   What are Tiny Beasties?

A:   The Tiny Beasties clearly do not have biological or evolutionary origins.  Research has indicated that they are, in fact, Magical Beings of Pure Imagination and Creativity.  Each one is unique in form and personality and they posses a seemingly infinite variety of shapes, attributes and personalities.  They are shy, but friendly by nature and possess the power to grant Good Luck to those who befriend, assist and offer Homes to them (as long as they don't break The Rules).

Q: Where do Tiny Beasties come from?

A: Nobody knows for sure where Tiny Beasties originate, though many have speculated.

Theories about their origins range from spontaneous anomalous phenomenon to secret magical workings to modern manifestations of benevolent "fey" spirits.

Despite the fact that many people report that their Tiny Beasties can communicate on some level with their human companions, none have ever chosen to reveal where they come from or how they came to be.

Thusfar, there have been reports of Tiny Beasties spotted around central region of Oregon state, U.S.A., but we hope our tracking efforts here at the Gallery will reveal more about their origins, range and migration patterns.

Q: Some Tiny Beasties have "devil horns"...are they demonic?

A: There has been no evidence of any evil or demonic behavior associated with the Tiny Beasties.  Research reveals that they are benign and benevolent by nature, unless one breaks The Rules (See "The Rules", above).

Q: What happens if you Break The Rules?

A: According to the information we have gathered, attempting to Collect or Sell Tiny Beasties can result in Bad Luck - Tiny Bad Luck...an avalanche of Tiny Mishaps, Misfortunes and Frustrations that add up quickly....every little thing going wrong...

Honestly, it sounds like a nightmare!

We here at The Gallery highly recommend Respecting the Beasties' Rules.

Q: What kind of Care and Feeding do Tiny Beasties need?

A: Tiny Beasties require no food, water, veterinary care or clean up.

They are water resistant and fairly sturdy, but their limbs and skin can be injured if not handled gently.

They are non-toxic, but they are NOT children's toys and are not intended to be handled or chewed on by infants or toddlers.

If you want to carry your Tiny Beastie with you in a pocket, backpack or purse, we recommend nestling them into a Nestling Bag to keep them safe.  Jewelry bags are prefect for this!

Q: How can you tell if it's a Boy or a Girl?

A: Since Tiny Beasties are not biological, they do not mate or reproduce sexually and have no genders.  The pronouns They/Them are appropriate.

Q: What can I do to help a Tiny Beasties find their Special Someone?

A: If you already have a Beastie companion, and Discover more in the wild, you can help them out by leaving them in place and contacting us here at the Gallery of Tiny Beasties with Location Reports, Tips  or Clues that we can add to our Gallery Listings. Email us at: admin@tinybeasties.art

You can also pass on hints to other Special People you know who haven't met a Beastie yet...it's fun!

If you find a Beastie that has fallen down from it's perch or placed somewhere dangerous or has otherwise lost it's way, you can place them somewhere where they might have a chance to be spotted by their Special Someone.

It is said that helping a Beastie in this way can even result in a bit of extra Good Luck!
